‘See The Light’ is Gemma-Louise Doyle’s latest album and on it is fourteen tracks for her fans and the generally curious to check out.
The album has a mix of hits from across several decades from Frank Sinatra hits to hits by Coldplay plus it has her charting single ‘Reason’ on the album too which is perhaps the best track on the album.
Basically this album is a hybrid with covers of classics mixed in by originals so you go down roads of familiar songs with new takes on them and songs that are completely new for you to explore.
It was really interesting to hear how a song like Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’ would be performed and it turned out to be alright.
It was a pleasant experience listening to the album, in parts it reminded me of those uplifting Disney productions and a bit of thought about Jeanette MacDonald thrown in as well.
This album is perfect for those days where you just want to either relax in the sunshine to think or it’s a cold day and you’re sitting by the fire all nice and relaxed and steadily staying warm.
